I just flew in. Boy, are my arms tired!
As many of you know, for Valentine's day Laura purchased stand-up comedy lessons for me from the San Francisco Comedy College. One of the perks of taking the classes is that you have access to the open-mic nights. And what is the point of taking the classes if I don't take advantage of all the opportunities they offer? So last night I performed at my first open-mic night.- It was my first time to ever "entertain" a crowd (on purpose) on a microphone
- I had a 3 minutes time limit
- I'm actually not chewing gum in the video, though it looks like I am
- I forgot to look towards the people on the right-hand side of the stage until about 2 minutes in
- Only one joke bombed - And I knew it would
- I moved around a bit too much
- Yes, I harvested a lot of this from my blog
- Overall, It went perfect
Your moment of Zen:
If you're in the SF area and want to see my next stand-up set, drop me a line, and I'll send you the details.

Despite it being harvested from your blog, it's nice to see them told again straight out of the horse's mouth. Er. Blogger's.
SF? I go to SF, it has the highest per capita Asian population of any American city. Something about that moon language they speak arouses me.
Oh man!
If I were in the area, I would definitely come to see you.
You're very funny!
Comedians always seem to go the racism route or the vulgar route.
You seem like one of those rare people who just keep it appropriate and still keep people laughing. Love it!
great start. funny stuff.
i wouldnt give up the birth's sortof like premature ejaculation bit even though the audience squealed brakes. just work on the delivery. it's funny in a naughty but i likesss it way and people dig naughty, even prudes who consciously hold their chuckle internal.
That's awesome!
Ha ha, that was great Seth, I loved the , "How do we like our babies? ALIVE!" joke.
Well done! I've paid to see worse.
That is such a cool gift. Those classes sound like so much fun!
I loved it!!
Are you coming to Toronto any time soon? If so. I'd totally go see you! A good laugh would be nice!!
that brought enjoyment to my otherwise dull afternoon ... on a sidenote: i sent a friend a link to one of your blogs a while back. he told me this weekend that he'd be tired if he had your brain. do you ever get tired?
Wow, you did a really good job. I'm glad your first time went well. :D
Sounded like they really liked you.
Awesome! Let me know the details of your next set ^.^d
Well done! Takes some brass to do that
Awesome, you pulled it off very well! If I'm ever in San Francisco, I'll definitely make an effort to see you -seeing as it's pretty much all uphill from here. :)
Good job. You got some laughs out of me, nice for a friday morning. Lovely melodic laugh we can hear on the video, by the way.
I'll watch this when I'm not desperately trying to pack and get paperwork sorted for a session so I can get the fuck out of here ASAP.
But! Speaking of Elmo smokin' it up, my grandfather bought us back clothes from Mexico as a gift once, and I got a T-shirt with Ernie and Bert blazin'. Wonder if I still have it.
You are a natural on the stage! Though you are right about moving too much and looking too much on one side.
Well done, senor!
hum, I had no clue that you were living in san francisco now, shows you how much I've been paying attention.
There's a very (i'd like to re-emphasize the importance of very), high likelihood that we'll be moving to springfield, OR, here shortly. so, sounds like mini roadtrips may be in both our futures, considering they're maybe 6-7 hours apart.
Hey!!
How are you? Hows life?
great set...loved the st pattys joke and the protest slogan. I will be up in SF tuesday, wednesday and thursday this week with my bro..lets get together one of the those days and trade some jokes/drinks whatever.
Actually my first thought was "yeah must be gay." Not really. Glad to see you're still entertaining the world.
